How To Get Summer-proof Makeup!

The weather may not be looking like summer is approaching, but it’s always good to be prepared! If you suffer from your makeup melting off as the weather gets warmer, then we’ve got all the tips and tricks you need to make your makeup summer proof!

Do: Prime!

Lock on makeup with our porefessional primer range! It’s available in three different formulas to suit different skin types.

If you have oilier skin our original POREfessional primer will quickly minimise pores and fine lines, while locking on makeup. Its formula is oil free and contains vitamin E to help protect skin from free radicals. Simply apply by warming up on the back of your hand and then onto face with your fingertips!

If you find you have dehydrated skin our POREfessional hydrate primer instantly moisturizes and refreshes skin whilst minimizing pores and fine lines! It has the same oil free, lightweight feel plus 12 hour hydration! It’s formula contains Hyaluronic acid to attract moisture and help maintain hydration. Just warm up on the back of your hand and apply to skin using your fingertips!

If you have a dull complexion in need of a boost then our POREfessional Pearl primer is perfect for you! With the same oil free formula and pore minimising power plus a hint of soft pearly pink! This soft radiance primer instantly brightens skin, just warm up on the back of your hand and apply to skin using fingertips.

Don’t: Apply thick layers of products!

When applying your base products make sure to apply in thin layers and slowly build up to reach your desired coverage. This will help to create a smooth and texture free complexion for a more natural complexion that won’t cake!

Do: Layer your cream products with powder!

When applying contour and blush using a cream product and setting the areas with a matching powder shade will help makeup stay put! Liquids and creams tend to slide off throughout the day, by stippling lightweight powders on top it will prevent your cream products from moving and will lock in your complexion products from sliding off throughout the day!

We recommend using our Boi-ing cakeless concealer to contour, select a shade 2-3 shades darker than your foundation shade and blend out using a damp beauty sponge. Once you’ve blended your cream contour then set with our Hoola matte bronzer, its soft blendable formula will help soften the cream contour for a natural-looking bronze that lasts!

When applying blush we recommend using a tint with a powder blush, our favourite combo at the moment is applying Chachatint, a mango tinted stain to the apples of your cheeks and over the bridge of the nose for a sunkissed look. Blend out using a damp beauty sponge, then apply our Galifornia powder blush with a stippling brush over the areas you applied the tint! This helps to set the tint, as well as add some radiance and dimension, as Galifornia is a bright pink and shimmering gold blush!

Don’t: Only use pressed powders.

Try setting your makeup with a lightweight translucent setting powder like our Dr Feelgood Silky Mattifying Powder, this helps to mattify and absorb excess oils left on skin and will also set makeup for longer wear.

On areas of the face you’re makeup most commonly cracks and creases, try pressing the translucent powder in with a damp beauty sponge – don’t bake! This helps to set makeup and give an airbrushed finish! Pressing the powder into skin can also help brighten your complexion, making this technique perfect for setting under eyes and other areas of the face you highlight!

Do: Finish the look with setting spray!

Our POREfessional super setter spray locks on makeup for 16 hours! This multitasking microfine mist instantly blurs pores and leaves skin feeling smooth, refreshed and hydrated. The water-based formula is alcohol free and contains pore blurring powders that visibly reduce shine for a natural-looking soft focus finish!
